“Hey Guys! I moved to South Carolina and I’m doing a bakery. Do your magic please.” That was the call we got from Chef Matthew Black (formerly of Confit and Bayou). After successfully working with Vigor in the past on his other two restaurants, Chef Black knew he needed the creative expertise for his new bakery concept, Blue Marble
Set in Seneca, South Carolina, our biggest challenge was to design something that was creative and new, without alienating the local public. It had to draw in tourists during the tourist season while remaining approachable in the off season.
Blue Marble is a metaphor for the Earth. Since Chef Black takes influence from different cuisine the world over, it was only natural that we pull our color scheme and influence from the Earth and the one food item that unites us all: Bread. The logo is a graphic representation of a loaf of circular bread with three slices in the center.
The design of the supporting elements were an exercise in combining many elements in a new way, must like the Chef does for his baked goods and cafe items.
